I’ve been going to Stateline Fitness for over a year now and it’s such a gem!! The gym is always incredibly clean/organized, Coach Craig does a great job explaining the movements each class, there is always a good variety of workouts that can be scaled to any level. I was intimidated to try at first, but all fitness levels are welcome and I have gotten much stronger by being a member at Stateline.

“I checked out Stateline Fitness a few weeks ago when I was visiting from out of town. It’s a huge, clean space with plenty of sunlight and equipment (barbells, racks, kettlebells, C2 rowers, medicine balls, boxes, etc.). The owner, Craig (nice guy, humble yet strong and fit), led a workout that left my glutes burning more than I ever could have imagined. If you live near the state line, then you must check out Stateline!”

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Being active was always a part of my life so after having my third child I needed something just for me that challenged me physically and mentally. Enter CrossFit.

It was such a turning point in my life to realize I could do more, lift more, move faster than ever before. With the personal goals I was achieving in the gym came the realization that I was strong enough and fast enough to pick up my children and run holding them. There’s nothing like knowing you can count on yourself to help save your family if needed.

Why did you become a trainer?

From a young age I studied dance such as ballet, tap, jazz and modern and received my B.A. in dance. After college, I taught dance to children and Ballroom Dance to adults. I love working with people and passing on the tools I’ve learned to have fun and be active at any level and age.

Becoming a trainer was a natural progression. It gives me the opportunity to work with people and it continues to challenge me every day.

What’s your favorite Functional Fitness movement?

The deadlift.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Dark chocolate! Need I say more?

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

All the moms taking take of their families, their homes, working and still finding time to kick butt in the gym!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I have been involved in organized sports for as long as I can remember. Fitness and being active has become a natural part of who I am today. I fell in love with the process of working towards goals that I set for myself while playing organized sports. After graduating high school and hanging up the cleats, CrossFit was an outlet I found to fulfill my competitive desires and to maintain structure and stability in my evolving life.

Why did you become a trainer?

I believe one of the most fulfilling things in life is achieving goals (big or small) through hard work and dedication. I wanted to become a trainer due to my rooted desire to help people achieve their own goals and to assist them in living a healthier and more fulfilling life.

What’s your favorite Functional Fitness movement?

Burpees (I know, weird). There is something about overcoming the mental hurdle of pushing yourself to do a movement that your body can almost always physically do no matter how tired or far into a workout you are.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Pizza.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Ironman – just a normal dude that found a way to be awesome!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Fitness has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy. After spending time working in finance for the first 4 years of my life after college, I knew it wasn’t my path. I made a career switch and followed my dream.

Why did you become a trainer?

I wanted to help others become healthy both physically and mentally through physical training. I saw the effects on myself and loved ones, and wanted to share this passion with others.

What’s your favorite Functional Fitness movement?

Pull-ups.

What is your favorite cheat food?

I hate to look at food as good or bad because it creates an emotion attached to food, but for the sake of the question I like pizza.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I like Spiderman. He’s strong, nimble, athletic, and can move with the best of them.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Fitness has always been a part of my life and it always will be. It’s my way of unwinding and having fun. The human body can do amazing things if you treat it right!
Regarding CrossFit, I played competitive sports throughout college. After college I was looking for an outlet to fill my competitive desire. It started with running, then turned to obstacle course races, then I finally found CrossFit and haven’t looked back since.

Why did you become a trainer?

I was never happy at my corporate finance job (even after 10 years) so I decided to make a career change. Health and wellness was the best way I knew how to truly help people so becoming a personal trainer was the natural way to go. I was finally happy with my career while doing fulfilling work.

What’s your favorite Functional Fitness movement?

Bar muscle ups and snatch (which is more of a love/hate relationship).

What is your favorite cheat food?

Pizza, most hot subs, and blueberry muffins.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Batman – by far. He has no special power or unique abilities. He’s just a regular flesh and blood man who decided to be awesome.
